The Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation was established to regulate and centralise games of chance in the country, bringing order to an industry once marked by unlicensed operations. Its charter, consolidated under Presidential Decree 1869, entrusts the corporation with a duty that extends far beyond the gaming floor.
